Consumer Complaint Against Airlines

Airline is no different than the other travelling mediums when it comes to services and if they are deficient, knock the doors of consumer court.

The service provider will be booked if at fault, the amount invested would be returned along with compensation and litigation cost.

In the present case, neither the Indigo Airline nor Airport Authority of India (AAI) took the cognisance of mosquitoes on plane and Airport area and neglected away from duty saying it was a routine affair and there is hardly anything which they can do on this.

But consumer court didn’t accepted this argument and booked both for deficiency in services.

From the judgment it was made clear that the airlines with authority owe responsibility towards travellers ensuring hygienic and clean environment free from pathogens .

Since they have failed to perform the duties , consumer court ordered to pay them 30 K compensation , 10 K Litigation costs and 5 k in consumer aid forum to all the three litigants.

Total Rs. 1.35 lakhs for not keeping check on the number of mosquitoes on plane and airport . First why should it be there when we are offering world class services ?

They must be wandering it now. Don’t worry. It is most likely they will prefer an appeal but still it is a win for consumers today.

Don’t hesitate to complain against Airline, Railways , Bus Operators, Cab Service Operator and other travelling mediums to consumer court when you find it difficult to travel.

It is 100% justice would be done and the matter be decided in favour of consumer if the travel partner is deficient in services.
