With the increase in the number of immigrants from India, many other people have found their fraud business in the same. Such cheaters have gripped many immigrants and affected the dreams of many.But there are many immigrants who are well aware of the fake identity and flee to foreign countries fraudulently.
According to a data shared by the authorities, a total number of 130 students were arrested in the US out which 129 were Indians. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement these foreign nationals who were registered at the University of Farmington for civil immigration violations.These Indians were enrolled at a fake university allegedly to remain in the US. But immigration attorneys have claimed that the migrants were not having any knowledge of the illegitimate.

It has been reported by the federal prosecutor that the university in Detroit’s Farmington Hills aided in an undercover operation by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to expose the immigration fraud.
The Indian embassy in the US has started a 24/7 helpline to assist the students who have been arrested. According to prosecutors, foreign students knowingly joined the fake school to falsely maintain their student visa status and stay in the US.
The ICE agents also unsealed the charged eight people in a visa fraud scheme.These eight defendants were charged criminally for committing visa fraud for profits.

These arrests took place across the US, in New Jersey, Michigan, California, Atlanta, North Carolina, and St. Louis. The Federal prosecutors have claimed that the students were aware that the university was not running a legitimate operation.
An immigration attorney in Atlanta, Ravi Mannam has revealed that the fake university tempted these students by promising them credits for their previous master’s programs.He said what the University of Farmington was allowing students to work while being enrolled. So the students may have thought it was an authorized university.
In New Delhi, Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs,Raveesh Kumar has said that they are aware of the incident and looking for more details via the embassy in Washington and different places in the US. The government has mobilized the Indian community organizations in the US to give all possible help to the Indian students who are trapped by this incident. Meanwhile, a nodal officer has been appointed by the Indian Embassy to aide the suffering students.

Indian Embassy published a warning to stop fraud Visa activities as under:
In the interests of providing fair and reasonable services to our clients, we wish to advise that it is an offense under foreign immigration law to provide false documents or make misleading statements in a visa application.
In such cases, applications may be refused and visas may be canceled. In addition, the persons involved may be barred by law from being granted a visa for one to three years. In some cases, they may be permanently excluded from foreign countries.
Those who assist in or facilitate the commission of fraud, including agents, education providers, and business owners, are subjected to full investigations. Their details are reported to law enforcement agencies which have led to arrests and the pressing of charges.

When applying for a visa to foreign countries, applicants should be aware of the following:
- If you are involved with migration fraud in any way your ability to apply to travel to foreign countries will be affected.
- Ensure that all of the documentation that you provide with your application is genuine.
- You are strongly advised not to listen to people who tell you that they can ‘arrange’ a visa for a sum of money.
- There are known scams operating over the Internet and in newspapers offering employment or study in foreign countries. These are commonly offered by businesses claiming to be ‘migration agents’. When dealing with any agent or business offering such services please ensure that you verify any offers of employment or study.
- You should also verify that the agent is applying lawfully to the foreign Government before you make any payments or arrangements.
